State Council Building

The State Council Building, located in former East Berlin, served as the headquarters for the State Council of East Germany from 1964 to 1990. Designed by architects Roland Korn and Hans Erich Bogatzky, it features an asymmetrical facade that incorporates the historic Karl-Liebknecht-Portal, a significant site where Karl Liebknecht declared a socialist republic in 1918. After German reunification, it briefly housed the offices of the Federal Chancellor before becoming home to the European School of Management and Technology in 2006. This building is a notable example of post-war architecture and a symbol of the political history of Germany.
