West Point headland and West Point Lighthouse (Discovery Park)

West Point is a prominent rocky headland at the western edge of Seattle's Discovery Park that divides the northern and southern shores of Elliott Bay and includes the historic West Point Lighthouse and intertidal habitats. The park's bluffs and shoreline are underlain by glacially deposited sediments from the Vashon Glaciation and show coastal erosion and marine terrace features within the city. Discovery Park preserves a mixture of upland forest, bluff, and beach environments uncommon inside an urban core.
