Mission San Francisco de Asís (Mission Dolores)

Mission Dolores, founded in 1776 as Mission San Francisco de Asís, is the oldest surviving structure in San Francisco and a foundational site of the city's Spanish colonial and early Californian history. The complex includes the historic mission church (Basilica), a cemetery with early settler graves, and museum displays interpreting mission-era life. It remains an active parish and a frequent site for cultural and historical interpretation of San Francisco's origins.
