Houston Music Hall

The Houston Music Hall was a prominent 2,200-seat music venue that opened in November 1937, designed by Alfred C. Finn and financed by the Works Progress Administration. It was part of a larger project that included the Sam Houston Coliseum, both envisioned by Jesse H. Jones. The Music Hall replaced an earlier wooden structure and served as a cultural hub until its demolition in 1998. Today, the site is home to the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, which opened in 2003, continuing the legacy of live performances in Houston.
