Tower 13

Tower 13, located in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, was a condemned residential building transformed into a vibrant street art exhibition in 2013. Originally built in the 1960s, it was set for demolition as part of an urban renewal project. Art teacher Mehdi Ben Cheikh spearheaded the initiative, inviting 80 artists from 18 countries to create over 4,500 square feet of art across its 10 stories. The exhibition attracted 30,000 visitors in October 2013, despite long wait times due to limited entry. After the exhibition closed, the building was demolished, erasing the artworks but leaving a legacy documented in social media and a documentary film.
