Pioneer Square Underground unexplained phenomena

The subterranean passages beneath Pioneer Square, preserved and interpreted by Bill Speidel's Underground Tour, were created when streets were rebuilt after the Great Seattle Fire of 1889. Tour guides, visitors, and some investigators have reported unexplained footsteps, disembodied voices, and apparitions in the underground spaces. These accounts are regularly cited on ghost tours and in paranormal coverage but are contested by historians and skeptics.
