Jane's Carousel (Fulton Ferry Landing)

Jane's Carousel is a rare, fully restored 1922 carousel that was installed in 2011 in a glass pavilion designed by architect Jean Nouvel at the Fulton Ferry Landing in Brooklyn Bridge Park. The carousel was painstakingly restored by Jane and David Walentas and its pavilion sits between the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges, providing views of the East River and the Manhattan skyline. It operates seasonally as both a historic amusement ride and a publicly accessible landmark within the park. The installation preserves an early 20th-century example of American carousel craftsmanship within a contemporary public landscape.
