Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History

Founded in 1965, the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History is located on Detroit's Cultural Center Campus and is one of the largest institutions dedicated to African American history. The museum documents African American history and culture through permanent and traveling exhibits, educational programming, and public events. The museum moved to its current building at 315 East Warren Avenue in 1997 and remains a neighborhood cultural landmark.
