Fremont Troll sculpture

The Fremont Troll is a large concrete public sculpture installed under the north end of the Aurora Bridge in 1990 by four Seattle artists (Steve Badanes, Will Martin, Donna Walter, and Ross Whitehead). The sculpture grasps a real Volkswagen Beetle embedded in its fist and has become a widely photographed landmark and costume/photo spot for tourists and locals. Images of the Troll are frequently shared on social media and used in coverage of the Fremont neighborhood.
