Gilman Coggin House

The Gilman Coggin House, located in Reading, Massachusetts, is a beautifully preserved example of Greek Revival architecture, built in 1847 by local shoe manufacturer Gilman Coggin. This 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house features a striking front gable with a fully pedimented design, wide corner pilasters, and a charming single-story wraparound porch supported by square Ionic columns. The front entrance is accentuated by half-length sidelight windows and a fanlight transom. Recognized for its historical significance, the house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984, making it a noteworthy destination for tourists and researchers interested in architectural history.
