Nos. 33, 35 & 37 Clwyd Street is a historic 16th-century timber-framed building located in Ruthin, Denbighshire, and is recognized as a Grade II listed site. Currently functioning as a shop, this building showcases traditional wattle and daub construction. It was remodeled in the early 19th century to serve as the 'Cross Key's Coaching Inn', facilitating travel between Ruthin and Chester. The inn was last licensed in 1905 and later transformed into a temperance hotel and the offices of the Ruthin Rural District Council. Notably, in 1824, it hosted the official hangman, Sam Burrows, as he prepared for the execution of an Irish highwayman, adding a unique historical significance to this charming location.
