Libohovë Castle

Libohovë Castle, an Ottoman-era fortress located in southern Albania's Gjirokastër county, was constructed between 1741 and 1822 by Ali Pasha of Ioannina as a wedding gift for his sister Shanish. The castle, possibly built on the ruins of an earlier structure, served as her residence until her death, with her grave located nearby. Today, visitors can explore the impressive standing walls of the castle, which, despite being empty inside, offer a glimpse into the region's rich history and architectural heritage.
