Philippine Village Hotel

The Philippine Village Hotel, once a vibrant hub for travelers and socialites in Pasay City, was the first airport hotel in the Philippines, designed by National Artist Juan Nakpil. Opened in 1974, it hosted notable events, including the Miss Universe 1974 pageant, and served as a terminal for Grand Air until its closure in 2001. The hotel, which became abandoned and was later sequestered by the government due to tax issues and security concerns, was demolished in early 2026 to make way for the expansion of Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Its rich history reflects the Philippines' hospitality evolution and the impact of political changes on tourism infrastructure.
