Pompeiian Villa

The Pompeiian Villa, a historic house located in Port Arthur, Texas, was constructed in 1900 for Isaac Ellwood and features the architectural designs of George C. Nimmons and William K. Fellows. This elegant residence was owned by James Hopkins, a vice president of the Diamond Match Company, before being sold to George Craig, who acquired it for a stake in Texaco. Recognized for its historical significance, the villa has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1973. Today, it is maintained by the Port Arthur Historical Society and offers guided tours by reservation through the Museum of the Gulf Coast, making it an intriguing destination for tourists and researchers alike.
