Pythian Temple (Tacoma, Washington)

The Pythian Temple, built in 1906 and designed by architect Frederick Heath, is a historic building in Tacoma's Theater District. Originally serving as a lodge for the Knights of Pythias, it features retail and office spaces on the lower floors and lodge facilities above. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is notable for its rich early 20th-century interior, including a hidden hall with exquisite woodwork and murals. The temple has hosted various cultural events and performances, and continues to be a hub for community activities, housing the Tacoma Youth Theater and Seabury Middle School.
