Rivington House

Rivington House, located at 45 Rivington Street on Manhattan's Lower East Side, is a historically significant building originally constructed in 1898 as Public School 20. It later served as a vocational school and was transformed into a nursing home for HIV/AIDS patients in the 1990s. The building, designed in a Renaissance Revival style by architect C. B. J. Snyder, features decorative elements such as arched windows and terracotta moldings. In 2015, it gained attention when plans to lift its deed restriction were announced, leading to its sale for residential development. Nearby attractions include the Lower East Side Tenement Museum and Sara Delano Roosevelt Park, making it a point of interest for both tourists and researchers.
