Our Savior's Lutheran Church (Cranfills Gap, Texas)

Our Savior's Lutheran Church, located in the historic Norse community near Clifton and Cranfills Gap in Bosque County, Texas, was founded by Norwegian settlers in 1869. The church, built between 1875 and 1885, reflects the rich cultural heritage of the area, which is part of the Norse Historical District. Notably, it houses the cemetery of early settlers, including Cleng Peerson, a key figure in Norwegian immigration to the U.S. Recognized as a Texas Historical Landmark in 1962, the church remains active with a congregation of nearly 300 members and continues to serve the community with regular services.
