Van Cortlandt House Museum

Built about 1748, the Van Cortlandt House is the oldest surviving building in the Bronx and was the family home of the Van Cortlandts, a prominent colonial-era family. The house is located within Van Cortlandt Park and interprets colonial and Revolutionary-era domestic life through period rooms and exhibits. It is preserved as the Van Cortlandt House Museum and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
