Bonar Hall

Bonar Hall is a historic Georgian-style house located in Madison, Georgia, built between 1839 and 1840 during the town's cotton boom. It was constructed by John Byne Walker, a prominent local figure, and his heiress bride, Eliza Fannin. The house features classic Georgian architecture with a grand portico, extensive brickwork, and a formal boxwood garden. It has served various roles throughout history, including a makeshift hospital during the Civil War. The estate spans 13 acres and includes several historic outbuildings. Bonar Hall was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in Southern history and architecture.
