Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty on Liberty Island was dedicated on October 28, 1886 as a gift from the people of France and was sculpted by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi with an internal iron framework engineered by Gustave Eiffel. The monument became an enduring symbol associated with immigration and welcome to the United States.
