Dhanraj Mahal

Dhanraj Mahal is a historic Art Deco building located in Colaba, Mumbai, near the Gateway of India. Constructed between 1935 and 1938 for Maharaja Narsingir Dhanrajgir Gyan Bahadur, it was once the largest private residence in Bombay and showcases early-20th-century Parisian design. The building features a distinctive pale pink sandstone façade, sweeping curves, and geometric ornamentation. It has served various purposes over the years, including residential and commercial uses, and is classified as a Grade III heritage structure, ensuring its conservation. Notable residents include actress Zubeida Begum, and today, parts of the building house businesses like a Belgian café and a luxury fitness studio, blending historical significance with modern utility.
