Webster School (Washington, D.C.)

The Webster School, built in 1882, is a historic Romanesque Revival building located at 940 H Street NW in Washington, D.C. Originally a segregated school for white children, it later served as the Americanization School for immigrants and various educational programs, including a school for pregnant teens. The building has undergone numerous transformations and faced preservation challenges, leading to its designation as a historic landmark in 1999. After years of vacancy, it was sold in 2025, marking a new chapter for this architectural gem that reflects the educational history of the city.
