Fort Caroline National Memorial

Fort Caroline National Memorial interprets the 16th-century French presence on the St. Johns River and commemorates the short-lived 1564 French settlement of Fort Caroline. The site includes a visitor center with exhibits, a reconstructed section of a 16th-century French-style palisade, interpretive trails, and views of the river. It is administered by the National Park Service as part of the Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve.
