Bowen Harbour Board Building

The Bowen Harbour Board Building, constructed in 1921, is a heritage-listed site located in Bowen, Queensland. Originally built for shipping agents McDonald Hamilton & Company, it played a significant role in the development of Bowen as a commercial port. The building has a rich history tied to the expansion of North Queensland's shipping and freight services. It has survived numerous cyclones and has been repurposed over the years, housing various businesses and organizations, including the Bowen Historical Society. Today, it serves as the office for Queensland Transport and is recognized for its historical significance, having been added to the Queensland Heritage Register in 1992.
