Lisner Auditorium

Lisner Auditorium, located on the Foggy Bottom campus of George Washington University in Washington, D.C., is a historic performance venue that opened in 1946. Funded by Abram Lisner, it showcases a blend of stripped classicism and late Art Deco architecture, designed by Waldron Faulkner. The auditorium has hosted a diverse range of performances, from classical music to rock and blues, and played a pivotal role in the desegregation movement in the city. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990, reflecting its architectural significance and cultural impact. With a seating capacity of 1,350, it remains a prominent center for the performing arts and is home to the Washington Concert Opera.
