Mother Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church

Founded by Richard Allen in 1794, Mother Bethel is regarded as the mother church of the African Methodist Episcopal denomination. The congregation's historic site includes a museum with artifacts documenting Black religious life and abolitionist-era history.
