Fort Negley Civil War fortification

Fort Negley Historic Park preserves the remains of a Union-built fort completed in 1863 to help secure Nashville after its capture in 1862. It is widely described in historical sources as the largest inland fortification constructed by Union forces during the American Civil War. The site includes reconstructed walls, interpretive signage, and a visitors center documenting the fort's construction and history.
