CLA Building

The Classroom, Laboratory & Administration Building, known as the CLA Building, was a striking architectural landmark at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, designed by Antoine Predock in a Futurist style and completed in 1993. Its unique triangular shape made it a defining feature of the campus and a backdrop for films like Gattaca. However, due to its location over a fault line and ongoing maintenance issues, the administrative section was demolished in 2022. In its place, The Park at 98 opened in 2023, offering green spaces and a tribute seating wall made from the original structure. The remaining classroom and laboratory sections are set for renovation, sparking debate among the university community.
