Pioneer Plaza longhorn herd

Pioneer Plaza features a bronze cattle drive installation of 49 longhorn steers and three trail riders sculpted by Robert Summers and installed in 1994. The life‑size herd commemorates the 19th‑century cattle drives along the Shawnee Trail and is one of Dallas's most photographed public artworks. Locals frequently make playful jokes and pose for photos with the steers, treating the installation as a humorous downtown landmark.
