Old South Meeting House

Built in 1729 as a Puritan meeting house, Old South Meeting House was the site of large public gatherings in 1773 that helped lead to the Boston Tea Party and served as a major colonial-era forum. The building survived British occupation and later uses, and today operates as a museum interpreting colonial and revolutionary-era Boston. It is located in downtown Boston and is a documented stop on the Freedom Trail.
