Seattle Central Library (Rem Koolhaas building)

Seattle Central Library, opened in 2004 and designed by Rem Koolhaas and OMA in collaboration with LMN Architects, serves as the central branch of The Seattle Public Library. The building is notable for its glass-and-steel exterior and the interior 'Books Spiral,' a continuous arrangement of nonfiction stacks intended to allow uninterrupted browsing. Locals regularly use the library's meeting rooms, study areas, and reading spaces for community programs and research.
