Hospital of St Mary Magdalene, Glastonbury

The Hospital of St Mary Magdalene, established around 1310 by Benedictine monks, is a historic former Catholic complex in Glastonbury, Somerset. Originally built as almshouses for ten men, it features remnants of a chapel and late medieval architecture from 1444. Dedicated to Mary Magdalene, the hospital served lepers and underwent various transformations over the centuries, including a decline in the 17th century. Today, it is a Grade II* listed building with one restored almshouse open to the public, offering visitors a glimpse into medieval healthcare and architecture.
