The White House - presidential residence and installations

The White House at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW is the official residence and principal workplace of the president of the United States. Construction began in 1792 and the building was first occupied in 1800. The structure was set afire by British forces in 1814 and subsequently reconstructed; it houses the Executive Residence, West Wing offices, and multiple permanent and functional installations for presidential staff and security operations.
