Heyburn Building

The Heyburn Building is a historic 17-floor structure located in downtown Louisville, Kentucky, completed in 1928 and designed in the Classical Revival style. Once the tallest building in Kentucky, it played a significant role in the city's early 20th-century business landscape. Named after William R. Heyburn, it has undergone various renovations and changes in ownership over the years. Despite its historical significance and listing on the National Register of Historic Places, the building has faced challenges with occupancy and maintenance in recent decades. Notable events include the closure of the immigration court in 2019 due to building conditions and protests by activists in 2018.
