Mission San Francisco de Asís (Mission Dolores)

Founded in 1776 as Mission San Francisco de Asís, the site commonly called Mission Dolores contains the original adobe chapel completed in the late 18th century. The small adobe chapel is the oldest surviving structure in San Francisco and is part of a larger mission complex and parish that has been continuously active since colonial times. The mission houses an on-site museum with artifacts and exhibits documenting early California mission history.
