Capt. Nathaniel Parker Red House

The Capt. Nathaniel Parker Red House, located at 77–83 Ash Street in Reading, Massachusetts, is a historic vernacular Georgian house built before 1755. Notable for its painted exterior and elegant southern entrance, it served as a tavern on a coach road, becoming a gathering spot for revolutionaries, including Marquis de Lafayette and Alexander Hamilton. The house remained in the Parker family until the late 19th century, but its business declined after the construction of the Andover Turnpike. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984, making it a significant landmark for tourists and researchers interested in American history.
