Dallas Zoo

The Dallas Zoo was established in 1888 and is the oldest zoological park in Texas. Located in southern Dallas, the zoo occupies over 100 acres and combines historic buildings with modern animal-exhibit facilities. The institution has operated continuously since the late 19th century and has played a longstanding role in regional conservation and public education.
