Pewabic Pottery studio and tile installations

Pewabic Pottery was founded in Detroit in 1903 by Mary Chase Perry Stratton and remains an active studio and gallery producing iridescent-glaze tiles and pottery. Pewabic tiles have been installed in numerous Detroit public and institutional sites (including the Guardian Building) and the studio offers public tours, exhibitions, and educational programs. The organization is a longstanding contributor to Detroit's public-art and architectural ornament tradition.
