The Parthenon replica in Centennial Park

A full-scale replica of the 5th-century BC Parthenon in Athens, the Nashville Parthenon was first built as the centerpiece of the 1897 Tennessee Centennial Exposition. The temporary structure was later replaced by a permanent concrete recreation completed in the early 20th century. The building houses an art museum and a 42-foot statue of Athena sculpted by Alan LeQuire, installed in 1990. It is a documented architectural and cultural landmark of Nashville.
