Mustang (Blue Mustang) at Denver International Airport

Known commonly as the Blue Mustang, Luis Jiménez's 32-foot-tall painted sculpture was installed at Denver International Airport in 2008. The work features illuminated red eyes and was completed and mounted after the artist died in 2006 during its fabrication when a section of the sculpture fell on him; this circumstance is a documented part of the work's history. The sculpture stands on airport property near the main terminal drive and is part of DIA's public art collection.
