Riviera Hotel and Casino (former Strip resort)

The Riviera Hotel and Casino opened on the Las Vegas Strip in 1955 and operated for six decades as one of the Strip's early large resort-casinos. It closed in May 2015 and the remaining structures were demolished in 2016, illustrating mid-20th-century resort infrastructure that was later removed during Strip redevelopment. The property's long operation and eventual demolition are often cited in discussions of the Strip's evolving built environment.
