Joseph Twitchell House

The Joseph Twitchell House, located in Sherborn, Massachusetts, is a historic saltbox-style home built around 1710, with possible origins dating back to 1690. This remarkable structure features a distinctive 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame design, a massive central chimney, and a Georgian front door adorned with Doric pilasters. The house's interior includes a central hall layout with rooms on either side and a lean-to at the rear. Notably, it is one of the few houses in the area that retains elements from the 17th century, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in early American architecture. The Joseph Twitchell House was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
