InterCity Place

InterCity Place is a prominent 11-storey building located at Plymouth railway station, one of the tallest structures in Plymouth, standing at 47.2 meters. Originally known as Intercity House, it was constructed as part of the station's redevelopment initiated in the 1930s but delayed by World War II. The building was completed in 1962 and has undergone significant transformation, recently being converted into a teaching facility for the University of Plymouth. This renovation, which cost £33 million, aims to support training for health professionals and includes a striking illuminated 'halo' light beacon atop the structure. Opened in 2024, InterCity Place is part of a broader masterplan to enhance the university's facilities and the overall gateway to the city.
