Lincolnton Recreation Department Youth Center

The Lincolnton Recreation Department Youth Center, located in Lincolnton, North Carolina, was a historic clubhouse built around 1921, originally serving as a temporary school. It underwent renovations in 1947, showcasing Bungalow/American Craftsman architectural style with a single-story wood-frame structure and a distinctive truncated hipped roof. The center operated until 1989 and was recognized for its historical significance by being listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009, before its demolition in August 2019. This site reflects the community's past and its evolution over the decades.
