McKinney Falls State Park – Prehistoric sites along Onion Creek

McKinney Falls State Park contains documented prehistoric archaeological sites with evidence of Native American occupation dating back thousands of years. Archaeologists have recovered stone tools, projectile points, and ceramic fragments from campsites and activity areas along Onion Creek within the park. Texas Parks & Wildlife interpretive materials and park signage describe these archaeological finds and the long history of Indigenous presence in the area.
