North Hollywood Masonic Temple

The North Hollywood Masonic Temple, located in the vibrant NoHo Arts District of North Hollywood, California, is a historic building recognized as Los Angeles Cultural-Historic Monument #1078. Designed by Robert Stacy-Judd in the mid-20th century, the temple showcases a unique blend of Mesoamerican and Art Moderne architectural styles. It served as a gathering place for notable Hollywood figures, including Clark Gable and John Wayne, and features an impressive façade with geometric motifs and a striking blue pyramid reminiscent of ancient temples. Although the interior has been altered, the exterior remains a significant example of cultural heritage, now repurposed as an event space after the Freemasons relocated in 2014.
