Electric House, Battersea

Electric House was an innovative electricity showroom located on Lavender Hill in Battersea, London, opened in 1927. Designed by architect Henry Hyams, the building showcased the latest in electrical technology with its Art Deco style and extensive illumination features. It included demonstration rooms for various electric appliances, a grand central hall with a marble fountain, and richly decorated public areas. The building served as a hub for promoting electricity usage in the borough until its demolition in 1985, making it a notable piece of Battersea's architectural and technological history.
