Pedestrian platforms and walkways at the Fort Worth Water Gardens

The Fort Worth Water Gardens, designed by architects Philip Johnson and John Burgee and completed in 1974, feature a series of terraces, platforms and pedestrian walkways that overlook and traverse the site's pools. The site contains three primary pools (the Quiet Pool, Aerating Pool, and Active Pool) with elevated viewing areas and connecting paths that function like small bridges between levels. The Water Gardens are located adjacent to the Fort Worth Convention Center in downtown Fort Worth and are a noted example of urban landscape architecture.
