Madame Walker Theatre Center

The Madame Walker Theatre opened in 1927 and was built by members of Madam C.J. Walker's family as a cultural center for Indianapolis's African American community. The landmark hosts theatrical productions, concerts, and community arts programs and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The building has been restored and continues to serve as a hub for Black performing arts and heritage in the city.
