Hardware Building (Wadena, Iowa)

The Hardware Building, a historic site in Wadena, Iowa, was completed in 1873 and featured a unique two-story gabled design made entirely of limestone. Originally serving as a hardware store, it also included a storeroom and a saloon in its early years. Over time, it adapted to house the local post office and telephone exchange. Recognized for its historical significance, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977, although it has since been demolished.
